GLOSSARY
From the FDD vs. sample data
On this site, FROM FDD means a number was machine-extracted from the brand's actual FDD filing or a federal record. Nobody has checked each figure by hand, and extraction can err — check the linked source. Sample data is placeholder content and never citable.
Every brand page tells you where its figures come from: the brand's own FDD filing, the SBA's FOIA loan file, or Department of Labor enforcement records, each linked. These figures are read from the documents by software. Errors are corrected against the source when found or reported, but a figure labelled FROM FDD has not been individually checked by a person.
Sample data was placeholder content used while the site was built. It is no longer shown on brand pages and is never used in rankings. When a brand doesn't disclose something, the page says "Not Disclosed" rather than filling in a number.
